So I haven't fully been able to replicate her style, but here is my attempt at incorporating illustrator, water color, and photoshop...

This is her first piece I shall attempt to study and replicate....

After a several hours of work this is where I've gotten... It doesn't do her justice and still needs some work. I haven't gotten into any of the photoshop rendering yet, which is something I want to work with so we'll get there eventually. Anyway, here's my progress:

Shadow Chen is a mixed media illustrator from China. Working with mixed media is something that I'm interested in and I find her art very visually interesting and engaging. I think studying her work could help me understand how to combine hand and digital media in a compelling way. I also appreciate the use of color and rendering style and think this could be an interesting artist to study.

His work intrigues me because each image is made up of a compilation of tiled smaller images warped to give the perception of depth and volume. It almost appears to be reflective of pixels, making me curious about the deeper meaning of the piece by the different levels of visual communication.

I really love the collage style of the work and the use of color.
The relationships created within the work between every image creates really interesting over all compositions as well as intriguing details. This is a style I haven't tried much, and it would definitely push me to better develop my skills in photoshop. Over all a very intriguing artist and higher up on my list of potential artists to study.

I am a big fan of Art Nouveau and this artist translates the Art Nouveau style into digital illustrations. While most of her work is commercial and doesn't inspire deeper conversation, the aesthetic style and quality interests me. So while this may not be my final artist... I think the work is visually interesting.

I really enjoy his style of illustration and his use of drawings and selective color highlights to really create a conversation with his image. I would love to study this artist further, but it is a similar style to what I currently lean towards so it may be more beneficial for me to continue my search for artists that I could learn more from and expand my current skills.
